Recent awards for our games

Greetings!

Thanks for stopping by. There's lot's of new stuff in the works right now! First up is the long-awaited Pop Culture edition of Anomia. Movies, music, TV, internet-culture, and more!

After the pop culture edition goes to press I'll be working on various individual themed decks. So far, I've been testing prototypes for People, Animals, Places, Sports, and Food. Got an idea for a themed Anomia deck? Drop me a line.

You'll be able to mix and match the themed versions and make your own unique decks. Plus, I've been working on blank Anomia decks, so you can make your very own, completely personalized deck.

Finally, in response to all the teachers we've heard from over the years I've posted some lesson plans online. Our games are not only fun to play with friends and family, but they are great tools for the classroom, too.

That's it for new stuff at the moment. Read on to find out about the most recent additions to the Anomia family.

First, Anomia X! The award-winning party game is back — with bad manners and an oversized martini.  Anomia X pokes a stick at the underbelly of society, and the results are decidedly NSFW!

Think about it - our minds are positively brimming with all sorts of questionable information. While it’s easy enough to think of a rum cocktail, a lubricant, or a celebrity train-wreck, you’ll find that your brain works a little... differently under pressure.

Fast-paced, brain-bending and irreverent, Anomia X promises hours of laugh-till-you-cry hilarity for you and your twisted friends.

We are also ridiculously excited to announce that Anomia Kids!

Now everyone from pre-readers to adults can enjoy the zany, high-energy fun of Anomia, no reading required!

Playfully illustrated and easy to learn, Anomia Kids will have young players sharpening their quick wits, visual perception, and speech-language skills all while having tons of fun!

While we are certainly excited about our new editions, we simply cannot believe how far Anomia has come since we sold our first games back in November 2009.

The oddly-named game in the blue box has sold almost a million copies worldwide, and is now available at Barnes & Noble, Target, Amazon, and most independently owned toy & game shops in North America. Anomia is also available in 11 languages and 16 countries!  Who would have thought that the idea I had when I was 12 would continue to grow and spread itself all around the world?  World-domination aside, Julia Roberts name-dropped ANOMIA in the cover story of the May 1st, 2017 issue of People Magazine.  Not too shabby.

Finally, let us not forget about our other popular games.

DUPLE: I've always been struck by how some word games can be decidedly antisocial; players just sitting around the table staring intently at letter tiles, waiting for their turn.  If you're a fan of Anomia (laughing, shouting, chaos) and love word games (Bananagrams, Scrabble, Boggle) then you should definitely check out Duple.  It's a highly-social word game, that will stump even the most ardent word nerds.

ANOMIA PARTY EDITION: Have you played your original copy of Anomia into a tattered, dog-eared mess of pulpy cardstock? Are you craving new category cards? Have you not yet grown tired of your brain betraying you at every turn? We know exactly how you feel. Diehard Anomia fans and novices alike will love the Anomia Party Edition, featuring six all-new decks and over 400 unique categories. Plus, we've included customizable blank cards so you can add your own categories to each deck.

That's it for now, folks. Thanks again for visiting Anomia Press. I love hearing from you, so please drop me a line via email, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Sincerely
Andrew Innes

Praise for Duple:
"Joyous intensity...the constant engagement, the challenge, the, perhaps, yelling...An unprecedented invitation to fun."
- Major Fun Award

Praise for Anomia:
“This seemingly simple card game will make you laugh and drive you crazy. Great fun for many ages and group sizes. Play it full speed for teens and adults, or slow it down to include the kids. The simplicity of game play is appealing, yet it’s unlike anything else out there.”
- Wired Magazine,  GeekDad Gift Guide

“A card game to confound our cluttered minds."
- Boston Globe Sunday Magazine
